Business - Development - Community

You started your commercial photography or video business because you have a passion for the craft.

You didn't want to be working a job you hate, it's about doing work you love NOW, so you can thrive and inspire the next generation.

But it turns out there's another craft you also need to master to be successful - business.

If you're like many photographers and videographers, you're a solo operator trying to do it ALL.

Benefits

  • Supportive community of likeminded photographers and videographers

  • Speed up your growth by filling in the gaps in knowledge (you may not know you have)

  • People to hold you accountable and ensure you stick to the plan

  • This is a business development group, not just a social get-together (although we'll do that too!)

  • Online platform for asking questions and getting support outside of the calls

  • Option for a 1-2-1 monthly coaching call

"A supportive, friendly, private community based on trust and a common purpose to have thriving businesses."

- Dave Bird, Small Biz Digital Media

Dan Barker Profile Picture

About the Organiser

Dan Barker is a former aerospace engineer who now runs a photography and video production business in Ledbury, Herefordshire.

I always wanted to run my own business and after picking up my first camera in 2012, I made the leap in 2018 to go full-time as a photographer. I've since expanded the business to provide video production services too.

When I changed careers to start my business, a big part of my motivation was wanting to set a good example for my children - to show them anything is possible and that they don't have to put up with working in a job they hate.

Photography got me out of that job

I now have five children, all home-schooled, so I understand the balancing act of a busy home life and running a business.

For me, the craft of marketing and running a business is something I love and I know that's not the case for most people in our industry. I'm passionate about helping others succeed and I believe I can add value to photographers and videographers who find the business side of things a challenge.

I've invested in my personal development over the years and I believe it's the best investment anyone can make.

FAQs

I can't make it along to all of the meetings, is that a problem?

No, not at all. Come along to as many or as few as you like. All calls will be recorded and posted as a private podcast which is available to all members so you can catch up.

I don't want to take over the world, just earn a living. Is this group for me?

It doesn't matter what your goals are for your photography or video business, as long you're clear on what they are. This group is for people who want to achieve their goals, whether that's time freedom, more income or to create a larger creative consultancy.

Do I have to be a Father to Join?

No. Whether you have kids or not, this is a group for men with a Father-Heart - men who want to build a successful business doing something they love and inspire the next generation - whether that's your own kids, other children in your family or new photographers and videographers.

I just want to shoot and not worry about running a business. Is this for me?

No. This is a group for men who recognise that running a business is the other craft they need to master, in order to be successful as a photographer or videographer.

How do I justify the cost of the membership?

As a member, you'll be continually learning - from Dan and from the other members. The tips you pick up and implement over time will ensure you see a significant return on your investment.
